After looking bug report (official of not), it seems disabling ntpl was a very bad idea, on ppc rpm hang, some poeple experience same issue on i586. Christian solve the issue by disabling nptl on ppc. I disabled nptl for poeple having old kernel, as these kernel (< 2.4.20) are no longer supported (was in Mandrake 9.1), I will update rpm to -6mdk with the normal nptl behaviour (aka enable). I plan to add a patch to solve a current issue I explain here: https://lists.dulug.duke.edu/pipermail/rpm-devel/2005-May/000428.html In summary, if the transaction have a color (the case on 64bits), the architecture is not check. So this allow to install a ppc package on amd64. Gustavo Nimeyer confirm removing the "&& !tscolor" should works. If you found problem about building rpm on other arch than amd64/i586, it's time to said me.
