      Distribution: Cooker
Summary: Can't control power saver features.
           Product: kdebase
           Version: 3.4.2-1mdk
          Platform: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: normal
         Component: kdebase
        AssignedTo: kde@mandriva.com
        ReportedBy: mej@mindspring.com

In the current release of KDE, I no longer have any control over the "Energy
Star" features of my system. If I enter the KDE control center ("Power
Control"->"Power Control") I get a message saying "Your display does not
support
power saving.", and all options are grayed out.

Since I use a KVM switch that cycles through each of the systems connected to
it, the Mandriva box refuses to let me control this feature, and is set to
Standby After 15 Min, Suspend after 30 Min, and Power off after 45 Minutes.
Thus far, all it does is blank the monitor after 15 min. That is useless with
using a KVM switch in this manner.

The monitor is an IBM 6556 P72 connected to an S3 Savage 4. This
monitor/interface combination worked properly with previous Mandriva versions.
