The problems seems to reside in Qt.  Since the upgrade, i tried to compile a
new style from kde-look.org and, to each style it stops configure at this line:
...
checking if Qt needs -ljpeg... no
checking for rpath... yes
checking for KDE... libraries /usr/lib, headers /usr/include
checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.

I do have kde-libs and i used to be able to compile from sources any style i
wanted before.  
Maybe the solution is to recompile kdelibs and kdebase, since changes in qt
seems to be important!

CDE/Compact/Windows/Motif/Platinum/SGI ( not the beautifulest ones ;) ). 
 
Launching "kcmshell style" in CLI doesn't give any warnings
