-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 [Usual plea - Cc to me on replies] Is there still any interest in modular IDE? It should cut kernel size down by appr. 150-200K (hard to say exactly, but IDE core + Ali driver is ~50K, given the number of IDE drivers I expect at least 150K) which should allow kernel to fit on floppy again. Besides, modern systems ususally come with SATA that is handled as SCSI anyway so IDE just bloats kernel. Handling should be pretty straightforward and could be unified with SCSI in this case. Modular IDE was basically done 2 years ago and I run it on 2.6.15 without visible issues except hibernation. swsusp expects resume partition to be present quite early (before initrd); it is possible to initiate resume manually after drivers are loaded from initrd though, If there is enough interest I could add support to initrd; BTW it also means that suspend to disk should not work with SCSI currently so it may be of some value anyway (but not as appealing to me :) - -andrey -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDvn4AR6LMutpd94wRAuwYAJ9omwu+zD6kASlnDyiSFBJleodACwCbBaCF kkoZppcpFWEsy/deazZctMQ= =5mEq -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
