------- Comment #1 from oblin@mandriva.com 2006-03-06 16:33 -------
The "hal.dev[5730]: DEVNAME is not set" message is harmless, you can forget
about it.

I'm trying to connect a WinXP client over PPPoE to the PPPoE-server on my
Mandriva 2006. The WinXP client can't connect saying "Verifying username
and password". The /var/log/syslog on the Mandriva says this at the moment
the WinXP client tries to connect:

Jan 18 21:31:15 hp pppoe-server[5724]: Session 10 created for client

Jan 18 21:31:51 hp pppoe-server[32511]: Sent PADT
Jan 18 21:31:51 hp hal.dev[5756]: DEVNAME is not set

Is the "hal.dev[5730]: DEVNAME is not set" the root cause message? Any tips
how to solve this? It is not very known to Google.
