So, i finally decided to upgrade, and I didn't faced many problem during the upgrade : 1) my gdm.conf was still using /usr/X11R6/bin/X, and it was not replaced on upgrade, mainly because I have changed it one day. I have also seen that /etc/X11/Xservers was not migrated because the config file was changed, by msec to add -nolisten tcp So maybe a %post to migrate those should be added. 2) kde seems to requires iceauth, and it was not required nor installed on my workstation. ~ $ rpm -q kdebase kdebase-3.5.2-15mdk 3) the same problem as andrey ( http://archives.mandrivalinux.com/cooker/2006-05/msg02030.php ). The fix was quite dirty and involved rm, but i need the unix pipe to work. Basically, I created the symlink by hand, and i removed the directory. But i do not see how we can fix this in a clean way. The only remaining issue i have seen is that aterm do not work, but xterm did ~ $ aterm aterm: can't load color "white", colorID = 0, (29) aterm: can't load color "White", colorID = 0, (29) aterm: aborting -- Michael Scherer
