Likely we are coming back to a 6 months release cycle (4 months if I manage to convince everybody, but unlikely).
I suppose there are good and bad sides to a short release cycle, the good being up to date external software and the bad being not much time to rework things that define the distro.
So I guess a 4 month cycle should look like:
m0: new installer + gui tools + update packages m4: (same installer & gui tools) * fixes + update packages m5?: start work on new & improved installer & gui tools m9: (same installer & gui tools) * fixes + update packages (+ extras?) m12=m0: new & improved installer and gui tools + minor update packages
of course, with each release having a few beta+RC cycles.
Is that what you had in mind with the 4 month cycle, Warly?
Cheers
Simon
