Actually, this stuff may also be needed:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Disable"
EndSection
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AIGLX" "Off"
EndSection
and optionally:
Option "ShadowFB" "On"
in the Device section (improves performance).
