When I do:
chmod -R 755 /tmp/symlinktodir
then chmod recurses over the symlink and changes every file/dir to 755
But:
chmod -R 755 /tmp
will not recurse, and skip the symlink.
This seems inconsistent to me. Moreover, chOWN does NOT traverse over symlinks either way.
Can this be considered a bug?
