That's correct.

Can you please send me the output of:

  strace python -c "from smart.util import cdistance as x; print x"

(you may have to install strace)

Hummm... that might be related to the problem. This file should
probably be under /usr/lib64. Where have you obtained that package
from?  The package maintainer may be able to give you a hint as
well.
