There is an interesting blog advising distributions to use Qt 4.5, with KDE 4.2: http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2009/02/10/why-kde-42-should-use-qt-45/ I am not in front of my cooker machine, so this might already be the case for Mandriva, but looking at the changelog, I saw Qt 4.4.3. According to Qt developer, KDE 4.2 does work better with Qt 4.5, with even better performances.
